Avia is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner at YesAbility and joined the organisation in 2025, bringing prior PBS experience from another Perth-based provider. She is a Psychology (Honours) graduate with experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with complex support needs.
Avia completes person-centred Behaviour Support Assessments and Functional Behaviour Assessments, and develops Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Implementation Plans that are practical, evidence-informed, and aligned with NDIS requirements. She has experience working with restrictive practices and applies a strong understanding of restrictive practice legislation, NDIS policies, and relevant state-based frameworks. Avia is committed to reducing restrictive practices wherever possible by strengthening proactive, skills-based supports and building consistency across environments.
With crisis support experience through Lifeline WA, Avia brings strong capability in safety planning, de-escalation, and linking people to the right supports at the right time. She values collaborative practice with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and is recognised for mentoring and supporting newer practitioners. Avia has also been identified for progression toward proficiency, reflecting her quality work, reliability, and positive contribution to the team.
