Breda is the Therapy Services Manager at YesAbility and set up the organisation back in 2017. She holds qualifications in Applied Social Care Work (Honours), a Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology. Breda completed part of her studies in Ireland and gained early experience working in residential group homes, respite centres supporting children with autism, and psychiatric units.
Since moving to Australia 14 years ago, Breda has worked across a range of human services and disability settings, including Positive Behaviour Support roles in large disability organisations prior to the introduction of the NDIS, case management in residential group homes, and child protection. She brings deep experience supporting people with complex behaviours, forensic presentations, and disability-related support needs, and has a strong interest in the safe review, reduction, and elimination of restrictive practices in line with safeguarding requirements.
Breda is known for achieving meaningful outcomes with participants, including successfully reducing behaviours of concern and fading restrictive practices safely through proactive, skills-based supports and consistent implementation. She maintains a small clinical caseload and continues to work with regional and remote communities, an area of particular passion, while also providing leadership and oversight across YesAbility’s therapy services.
