Lucy

Occupational Therapist + Team Leader

Lucy is a Team Leader in Occupational Therapy at YesAbility and joined the organisation in 2024. She is a registered Occupational Therapist with experience in child and adolescent mental health and addictions services, and holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) from Auckland University of Technology. Lucy also completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (University of Auckland, 2023). 

Lucy brings strong capability in recovery-focused, client-centred practice and has experience supporting young people and families across assessment, intervention, and care coordination. Her work includes triaging referrals, completing sensory profiles and cognitive screening (KBIT-2), delivering sensory modulation sessions, and developing and facilitating group programs (including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-informed groups and skills-based workshops). 

Lucy has stepped into clinical coordination responsibilities, including overseeing caseloads, leading multidisciplinary meetings, supporting team communication, and providing day-to-day guidance to staff. She also has experience responding to acute presentations, completing risk assessments, and developing safety plans in collaboration with young people and their families.
