Strengthening skills that save lives

Supporting people well means being prepared for the moments that matter most. In 2025, YesAbility clinicians undertook intensive, government-led mental health training to strengthen their ability to respond to risk and support participant wellbeing.

Hosted at the Osborne Park office, the two-day Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training, delivered by the WA Mental Health Commission, equipped teams with practical skills to recognise warning signs and respond with clarity and confidence. This was complemented by a hands-on de-escalation workshop, giving clinicians tools to safely navigate complex or heightened situations.

Together, these experiences reflect a broader commitment: ongoing, evidence-based learning that builds safer environments for participants and more resilient communities.
