In December 2024, YesAbility brought specialist training directly to the Goldfields, delivering a tailored professional development session on Positive Behaviour Support for local Disability Support Workers.
Held at the Commerce Hub in central Kalgoorlie and delivered in partnership with Kin Disability Advocacy, the session translated evidence-based clinical approaches into practical, everyday strategies. Designed and facilitated by YesAbility’s clinical team, the training focused on what matters most on the ground: how to respond with confidence, consistency and care.
By offering multiple sessions, more workers were able to attend without the need to travel to Perth. The result is a stronger, more capable local workforce and better, more consistent support for people with disability across the region.
